Projects

  • Beechlands Award winning extension

Newmans have won the Banes 2014 LABC Building Quality Award for a Domestic Extension. We have also been shortlisted for the West of England LABC Award for this domestic extension.

  • The Rajpoot

This project doubled in size the award winning Indian restaurant The Rajpoot in Argyle Street, Bath. The sub basement adjacent to the restaurant, originally a bakery, was stripped back to the stonework. Structural openings were made, walls moved and built, staircases moved and a lift dismantled..

  • Claverham House

    Restoration of Claverham House.

  • St. Julians Church

This job involved the sympathetic refurbishment of the vestry at St.Julians Church in Wellow. The objective was to create a warm inviting environment to provide a meeting place for various groups and activities within the parish.

  • Restoration Of Listed Farmhouse

This project was completed in three phases. For these works we were provided with basic architectural drawings which were then detailed by us and altered and adapted in conjunction with the clients..

  • Vaults Conversion

This project turned some damp dark vaults into a bright extension of the existing living space. All the incoming services were re-sited and the vaults damp proofed with a membrane system*. Original stone shelves were carefully dismantled to be rebuilt and used in the refurbished vault.

  • Conservation Of Garden Building

This project turned a derelict out building attached to a listed building into a garden / breakfast room. Again, this was almost entirely rebuilt using lime mortar and glazed french doors were supplied and fitted to lead out into the garden.
